My roomie loves the Halloween movies. He's obsessed with Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. He was so pissed off when he learned about the new Halloween movie, until I told him...a minute ago that Rob Zombie is tied to direct the flick. Now he's okay with it. Heh.
Anyway, the History Channel is doing a bunch of documentaries on Halloween, Vampires and such. I love documentaries. The ones I watch usually do a good job of giving more than one side to a story. A recent one on Secret Societies was rather creepy. One guest claimed that the whole world economy is run by one group who strategically place people in power around the globe. Kind of frightening if you think about it, but interesting nonetheless.
This recent doc on the history of Halloween got me thinking. When
Ah well, here's a vampire poem I wrote for one of my classes earlier this year. The professor seemed to like it.
Enjoy!
Vampire
He watched from afar, pale flesh covered in silk
caught in the shadows of the frigid night.
Oh, she walked with the grace of noble blood,
her cloak fluttering behind, haunting him,
hiding the curves of her slender from.
“Come to me,” said a voice on the wind, softly,
and slowly, like a siren’s seductive call.
He stalked the maiden, his eyes never roaming,
from the nape which he desired. She never turned,
keeping to her meandering strides. When he
drew closer, her pulse raced beneath her skin,
a torturous invitation of pleasure and pain.
“Come to me.” Yes, this beauty was luring him,
daring him, to leave the safety of the night.
He approached from behind, the lamplights
flickering flame bathing the stone walk,
ebbed to a glowing wick ember. She paused,
her breath caught in her throat and tightened,
preparing for what she secretly wished.
“Take me,” her whispering voice commanded,
as she cast away the locks from her shoulder.
He gripped her body and drew her close,
catching the scent of rose on her skin.
His tongue prepared the flesh for his mark,
and she bent to his will, quivering soundlessly,
as she met his eyes and exposed her intent.
“Make me,” she begged with such perversity,
he shuddered once then claimed his prize.

Plot this
I have a very good (sometimes bad) talent of blowing plots before they are revealed. Last week, I said in the first ten minutes of Heroes that everyone was connected. Then this past weekend, Mom and I were watching
I do it often, maybe it's because I watch too much TV and movies. I like it when I'm wrong or can't figure it out a la Sixth Sense, Saw (the first one), and the majority of the times I can't figure it out, it's because I'm trying to hard...or something.
Speaking of which, I got a DVR for the cable. WOOT! It is a wonderful toy, dangerous and likely to turn me into a bigger couch potato, but that's okay, now I get to watch crap during the year that I normally watch during the summer. I watched Nip/Tuck last night because Rosie was on it. Funny episode. Tonight is LOST bitches!
I'm up to 63K words on my newest project. I have an idea where I want it to go, but I pulled this story out of my ass and made up as I went along. Normally, I don't have an outline, synopsis, or even notes when I start writing, it's all in my head. With this one, I did a bit of plotting and note taking and I kinda know where I want it to end, but I'm afraid if I leave it with a cliff hanger and try to sell it as a series, I'll just get laughed at. I don't know if anyone will want to read this book. I never write with an audience in mind. I write what I enjoy. I know more women than men read fiction but for some reason the stuff I write seems targeted toward the male population. My only twist is, the main characters are usually women and kick ass. I think the romantic relationship subplot might keep women interested, least I hope so.
I cleaned my room yesterday. I'm sore right now. It took ALL DAY! You don't even want to know what I found under my bed. *Shivers* I'm glad I did it, but it just made me realize that I don't have enough room for my shit. This is my bookcase:
Looks small right? Well everything is double stacked, and I have another hanging shelf full of books to go along with that. I don't have as many books as DVD's (yet), but I still need a bigger bookcase Bleh. I can't fit anything else in it.
I took apart and cleaned my computer. I put everything back all nice and neat. I'm proud of myself. I hate cleaning. Any type. It's like making my bed. I think the last time I made my bed was when I had company over a year ago. What the hell should I make my bed if I'm just going to get into it later? Doesn't make sense to me, but I know people who make it every single day. O.o
I'm heading out to Best Buy. X3 came out yesterday and I didn't pick it up. Depending on how much money I have on my credit card, I might buy myself a present since I'm starting the new job on Monday.

Gamer Girl
Yes...if you are a child of the 80's I'm sure you remember this beast of a game. "Adventure" tried to be a role-playing game, I think. Those fucking keys and the dragons! Ugh.
The last game I beat was this:
Personally, I think it's amazing what we've done in thirty-ish years of video game design. Today I learned my nephew is thinking about getting into the business. That would be so cool. Too bad he's not old enough now, he could make the Tiva video game. :-)
I remember blowing into my cartridges for Nintendo and sometimes using another game to stick into the port and make it work. It usually did.
My roommate said to my brother and I today, "Are you going to be playing Final Fantasy when you're 80?" Our response was, "Hell yeah."
I've been trying to branch out and play shooter/action games, but there's just too many things to do with all the buttons. I'm used to maybe four different things on four buttons. Now I have to master eight. Fuck that. Give me a simple turn-based role playing game any day.
Still, I love video games. I love the CG graphics. I love playing navigator and figuring out the puzzles. Sometimes I love the stories. I'm really enjoying Enchanted Arms and listening to it in Japanese. *Swoon* I'm really enjoying that option. American voice-over actors are getting better, but no one does it like the Japanese!
The second thing on my mind today is rude people. You know what I find rude? Leaving a mess behind in a public place because you're too lazy to clean it. There is NOTHING worse than having to use the bathroom and walking into a stall with...well...just about any bodily fluid you can think of somewhere in visual range. Sorry girls, but you are the worst! Woman's bathrooms are disgusting. Aiming to pee because you won't sit on the seat isn't fun, we weren't built that way.
How about when you spill or break something in a supermarket and just leave it there? Or when you throw your trash around the movie theater despite the fact there are THREE garbage cans near the exits. You carried the shit in, emptied it and now you can't carry it to the trash? What the fuck? Would you go to your mother's house with a soda and leave it on her favorite couch?
I'd hate to think this type of rudeness is just in
It's not just a problem of laziness here in this country. It's the mentality. "I don't have to clean that up, someone else gets paid to do it." Well you know what, that's true, but maybe you know why the customer service you get from places isn't the best. I'd hate to cater to people, yes them to death and deal with their outburst just to clean up after them too. We all know people in the service industry don’t make a ton of money, isn’t it time we gave them a break instead of busting their chops even further?
Stop being rude,
*Steps off soap box.*

If you happen to...
Watch a movie, I enjoyed The Libertine, The Matador, and Lucky Number Slevin. Why? Johnny Depp is delicious. Pierce Bronson is hilarious. Lucy Lui is adorable.
Play a game, I suggest Enchanted Arms or Star Wars Lego 2. Arms has beautiful CGI, normal Japanese save the world story, but the grid battle system makes for an interesting strategic turn based RPG. The Star Wars games is so cute it's not even funny.
Read a book, I just finished Lover Awakened and rather liked it. It's a dark story of redemption, romance and vampires. I read a second vampire-romance this week, but it wasn't very good so I won't bother recommending it.
Listen to a CD, I'd go for 30 Seconds to Mars. Yes, that is the dude from My So Called Life and Fight Club singing. The video for The Kill is awesome!

What a way to start the month...
Next week is the five-year anniversary of 9-11. This month is starting great isn't it?
Well, I have a couple more interviews set up. I'd like to believe in miracles, but we all know Jenn is a cynic.
I've fleshed out my latest idea for a series of novels. If I can get this idea to work it should be unique and hopefully people will want to read it. I can't go into more detail because well, I'm slightly paranoid. Her name is Felicia Fascino. Both names mean something in other languages, so I think the name will fit considering what I'm going to do. We'll see how it goes.
I finished reading all the StarDoc books I won from SL Viehl I wasn't too keen on the last book and skimmed most of it. She changed POV from first person to third person after five books. Eh. I'll probably get the next book in the series, because I love the characters and the world she created.
JR Ward's newest book came out yesterday, I'll get that one eventually. I also want to continue the Rain series by Barry Eisler.
I sent a query letter to Book Ends Agency for my romantic/suspense novel, I don't see how they could refuse me considering they sold an "erotic" novel about shapeshifting wolves. The first chapter opened up with a three some. O.o My luck though, I still won't be good enough.
I know I need to start writing again, I haven't done anything since I finished editing Tiva a couple of weeks ago.
Roomie and I did a bunch of brainstorming about this new project. I want to make it as realistic as possible, which means a ton of research, but that's fine by me. I just need to figure out where and how to start it.
I haven't seen any new movies, but that'll probably change after this weekend. I actually want to see The Covenant, it's The Craft with guys! Jenn likes guys.
The new fall TV season isn't starting off with a bang. I think I might only pick up one or two new shows, but I don't think any of them are going to be "Must See". The only shows I have to watch are LOST, CSI, Survivor, and Sunday night on FOX. Of course 24 and American Idol when they starts in January, but other than that, eh, whatever keeps my interest will work. I'd probably be better off watching less TV and doing more writing.
Interesting concept.
